Spending Your Time In The Right Places? Social Media Isn't One Of Them.

If you're tired of trying to keep a consistent social media presence by posting often, I have some unconventional advice for you today.

Let's start with this little gem.

Stop chasing the algorithm and START building YOUR empire online!

But first, let me remind you that there is no social media gestapo checking your consistency or lack thereof.

Lately on both my clarity calls and with my coaching clients I keep hearing the same complaint about feeling the "need to post everyday or more often" with guilt attached to it!

Here's the thing going down memory lane for a sec...

If you stop and think back to when Instagram first started, they were a beautiful platform that was strictly square photos.

Fast forward to the booming app at the time SNAPCHAT, well guess what Instagram did, they added STORIES!

Ya gotta keep up with the competition right?

They morphed yet again, when YouTube became the most popular platform and added IGTV!

Does anyone still use this? :/

Then in the last iteration they added Reels with the rise of TikTok.

It was tiring just writing each of those changes!

Geez!

I know it's tiring just trying to keep up the schedule. Been there and done that!

Sounds a little ridiculous once you actually let it sink in, huh?!

On top of that, with each change, experts told you to feed the algorithm daily or consistently so you can show up on the For You page or get boosted for your audience to see you. Missing the entire goal of conversion and connection.

STOP drinking the Kool-Aid!

Communicating your message really doesn't need to be this hard!

So when my initial clarity consultations or one of my new students say "I've been trying to post everyday, but...", I stop them dead in their tracks and here's the advice I give...

Do it when you're ready, do it when you're "feeling" social, do it whenever the heck you want to!

Because here's the truth no one is telling you about social media.

You don't have any control over what the algorithm shows to your customers, nor do you have any control over how MANY of them will actually see your content.

Have you ever stopped to think that maybe jumping through all of these hoops isn't necessarily what our customers need or want? Or that it's even achieving the goals you've set out to accomplish?

Let's play devil's advocate though.

Let's say, a million people just saw your post and pressed the like button!

Yeah, you got some an engagement with those likes and you're feeling insta-famous!!

That's what they say you should get right? Engagement?

That way you'll tell the algorithm that your content is awesome!

Well, did those million people buy from you? Did your bank account go up by a million dollars?

Likely, no.

Can you connect with those million people any better than before?

Uhhh NOPE!

Why is that?

Because you just invested your limited time, energy and focus on building your home on rented land!

If Instagram were to disappear tomorrow, you have no way to tell your followers and ALL of those million likes where to follow you now.

One of the key strategies I teach in the Unleash Your Profit course is creating your empire around the things you OWN.

Building your strategy around the ability to be found online and directing your audience to the places you OWN.

So what do you OWN, you ask?

Where should you build this home of yours?

Where should you invest your precious limited resource, TIME?

You OWN things like your website, your email list, your content, your intellectual property. The things that if all social media was gone tomorrow you could start all over without a hitch.

THIS is where your limited time, energy and resources should be directed! The extra time, energy and resources (when you're ready to have FUN and be SOCIAL) can be spent on social media.

Next week, I'll share my story of making a profit WITHOUT being on social media everyday and it won't be word of mouth!

Now, let's GET S.O.C.I.A.L.

Building a brand strategy is truly about designing a business that aligns with your life, not the other way around!
