The Vlogmas 2023 Checklist

December 1st is in 2 days and I just decided to do Vlogmas.

Unprepared, check!

Still doing it, check!

Why? And How?

Let’s get into it.

The Why?

Vlogmas is a fantastic time to practice your vlogging skills number 1 and let me tell you, mine suck since I don’t do this but also a way to fast-track your learning curve on YouTube

People don’t expect perfection and you can already expect to get pretty low views so keep your expectations low.

Most importantly though, I think it’s a great opportunity to highlight YOU.

A way to let your audience know a little of the intimate side of who you are. Planning to pivot on your channel?

Now is a great time to introduce new content that may not be as buttoned up as your subscribers generally expect or simply some topics you’ve wanted to share but that possibly just didn’t fit into what your subscribers expect from you!

So, now for the how to prepare for it because let’s be honest, Vlogmas begins before Dec 1st.

#1 Create a very basic thumbnail template with your brand colors to use on repeat or don’t have one at all. Participating in Vlogmas is not necessarily a huge part of your growth strategy but more of a practice.

#2 Grab your phone and a selfie stick or tripod or just use your hands.. Yes, it’s that quick and dirty.

#3 Use a title | your name +Vlogmas

#4 Remember your avatar is still watching so create titles they are focused on.

#5 Think of all the things you do before the end of the year and get ready to share them. Books you’ve read, transitions you've made, life updates, your favorite holiday drink, family photos, yearly recap, Next year’s vision. Your word of the year. Best advice. Anything you want to share with your audience that may not be in your normal content buckets last year. Resurfacing like myself with an explanation. Morning and night routines, a DITL, Get ready with me,

#6 Get your Intro and outro together, what will you say at the beginning and end of each video? Something super simple to start with a greeting and something.

Who is ready to unleash their something amazing? What’s up Fierce Visionaries...

Still working on this one!

#7 Write out your list of videos and create a few short outlines or simply wing it each day.

#8 Vlogging on Dec 1st to post on Dec 2nd  and so on and so forth

#9 Get your music from Epidemic sound only 2 or 3 and keep it super simple

#10 Have fun and approach it like practice.
